Jackets and outerwear show a lot in a single flat photo: the colour and finish, zip and hardware, panel construction, logo placement, and the fit label. When you inspect one, look at the seams and the way the shell sits rather than at styling shots. Photos will not confirm fill weight, waterproofing, or how warm a piece actually is.
